About me
I am James Reid, a former Blackwatch Association bagpiper for hire in London and the surrounding areas.
I was a pioneer of the Ruskin Folk Festival, now a regular fixture on the Croydon music calendar. My recent performances include:-
- Tracey Ullman’s Show, BBC One
- British television presenter Ade Adepitan’s wedding to singer Linda Harrison, as featured in Hello Magazine
- Eight Out of Ten Cats Does Countdown, Channel 4
- The Jeremy Vine Show, Channel 5
- The Heart FM Breakfast Show
When I am not performing solo, I compete with The British Airways Pipe Band.
Available for hire at your special events
The highland bagpipes have long been recognised as a fitting tribute to a variety of prestigious events, and over the years many great pieces of music have been composed especially for them. Their emotive sound and ambient resonance can uplift the spirit and touch the heart. You don’t need to be Scottish to have a piper for your event. I attend many events including:
Weddings, Funeral and memorial services, Corporate events, Product launches, New Years Eve (Hogmanay), St. Andrew’s Night and Burns Supper
A piper can help transform your day into an experience that your guests will remember for years to come.
I am honoured to play at any celebration and would never discriminate against anyone based on their sexuality or gender expression. I hold a safe space for the LGBTQ+ and transgender community.
